Plan ahead

Tattoo in Gran Canaria? Plan It Before You Fly.

Your holiday is already booked. Your tattoo can be too. You don't have to wait until you land in Gran Canaria to start planning it — contact us from home, send your idea and reference images, and tell us your travel dates. We'll help match your project with the right artist and get your appointment organised before you fly.

No commitment — just tell us what you're thinking.

How it works

Plan Your Tattoo in Four Steps

01

Send Your Idea

Tell us about the tattoo you have in mind. Send your concept, any reference images, where on your body you'd like it, and an approximate size. You can do this from home, weeks or even months before you travel.

02

Let Us Help With the Artist

Tattooland Canarias works across a range of styles, from tribal and Polynesian to realism, Japanese and neo-traditional. Once we see your idea, our team will help work out which artist is best suited to your project — there's no need to choose one yourself, though you're welcome to if you already have someone in mind.

03

Plan Your Appointment

Share your travel dates and we'll discuss a suitable time for your appointment during your stay. Nothing is confirmed until we've agreed it together, but this gives us both a starting point before you arrive.

04

Arrive & Get Tattooed

You arrive in Gran Canaria already knowing which artist will work on your tattoo and when your appointment is. All that's left is to come in, finalise the details in person and get tattooed.

Why Plan Your Tattoo Before Your Holiday?

More time to get it right

Working out your idea and any reference images before you arrive gives you and your artist time to properly discuss the design, rather than trying to finalise everything in a single visit.

More flexibility with your appointment

Contacting us early gives you a wider choice of appointment times, especially if you're travelling during a busy period.

No rushed decisions

A tattoo is permanent. Planning ahead means you're not choosing a design or an appointment slot under time pressure just because your holiday is ending.

A tattoo that fits your holiday

Swimming, sunbathing and beach days all affect how and when you should get tattooed. Planning in advance lets you fit your appointment around the rest of your trip, not the other way around.

Getting Tattooed on Holiday: What to Know

A tattoo during your holiday needs a little planning around the rest of your trip. A few things worth thinking about:

Sun and sunbathing

Fresh tattoos need to be kept out of direct sun while they heal, which matters in Gran Canaria's climate. Plan your beach days around your appointment rather than straight after it.

Swimming and the sea

Pools, the sea and other water should be avoided until your tattoo has sufficiently healed. If swimming is a big part of your holiday, it's worth factoring into when you book your appointment.

Timing your appointment

Some visitors prefer to get tattooed early in their trip to allow healing time; others prefer the end of their holiday so they can enjoy the beach first. Either can work, depending on your plans.

Aftercare

Your artist will explain exactly how to care for your tattoo before you leave the studio. Following those instructions matters more than how many days are left on your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book my tattoo before arriving in Gran Canaria?

Yes. Send us your tattoo idea, reference images, placement, approximate size and your travel dates before you fly, and we'll start planning your artist and appointment in advance.

How far in advance should I contact Tattooland?

There's no strict minimum, but the earlier you get in touch, the more choice you'll have of appointment time. If you already have your holiday dates, it's worth sending your idea as soon as you know you want a tattoo.

Can I send my tattoo idea before my holiday?

Yes, and it's the best way to start. Send your idea, any reference images, your preferred placement and approximate size, and we'll take it from there.

Can Tattooland help me choose the right artist?

Yes. Once you send us your idea, our team will help work out which artist is best suited to your project. If you already have a specific artist in mind, let us know and we'll take that into account.

Can I get tattooed while on holiday?

Yes, many visitors do. Depending on the design and artist availability, appointments can usually be arranged during your stay, especially if you've contacted us in advance.

How should I plan my tattoo around swimming and sun?

Fresh tattoos should be kept out of direct sun and away from pools, the sea and prolonged water exposure while healing. It's worth thinking about this when choosing which day of your holiday to book your appointment.
